Music History

As a child Paul undertook 12-years’ of drum lessons with renowned jazz musician Jimmy Scaife and session drummer Carl Hutchinson. During this time he learned to sight read to a high standard as well as developing a passion for playing and the ability to learn by-ear. Paul started out playing professionally at the age of 16 in local working men’s clubs. He would later develop his musical career by gaining a ‘Music Tech’ degree in 2001.

Paul has played with many professional bands over the years, from dinner jazz to heavy metal, as well as doing theatre tours, orchestra pit work and teaching music. He is able to learn tracks as per original, sight read to sheet music or learn click-tracks. For short notice gigs, Paul has a large repertoire of tracks he can perform without rehearsal. Paul always provides a professional service with top quality equipment, own transport, drum mics and in-ears. All equipment is appropriately flight-case for shared transport. Services currently available are:
